 FATHER GODversusFather Time

by TMRobinson

Prior to returning to federal service, I was an Earth Science Teacher (geology, meteorology, astronomy, oceanography) in the largest school in my state.   University of New Orleans' instructors who taught me graduate courses in geology were no friends of biblical Christianity.  They were often hostile to Christ, making hollow challenges in class and stating humans evolved from lower animals.  In ignorance, they equated creationism as being a belief in magic - showing that they aren't trained to make philosophical debates against creationism.  I've seen this anti-biblical bias in other university campuses across the United States.

The vast majority of the fathers of modern sciences believed the Bible to be accurate regarding its view of the universe. Their faith in Scripture was not misled. Today, there are hundreds of resources available, written by scientists and amateurs alike whose world view hasn't shut the God of the Bible out of their thoughts and inquiries.

Charles Darwin originated nothing new in his book, On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection or the Preservation of Favored Races in the Struggle for Life. Some of its tenets, like the eternalness of matter, were included in the Babylonian creation epic, Enuma elish, written about a thousand years before the book of Genesis was penned. Evolutionary ideas can be traced through the philosophies of many ancient nations including the Chinese, Hindu, Egyptian, and the Assyrian. The Egyptians had long believed in the spontaneous generation of frogs after the Nile had flooded, and the Chinese thought that insects appeared from nothing on the leaves of plants. The first to give a clear theory on evolution was Thales of Miletus (640-546 BC). He began with water that developed into other elements. These first elements developed into plants, then into simple animals, and finally into more complex forms like man. Such concepts were handed down through Greek philosophers, Plato, Aristotle, and Erasumas Darwin - Charles Darwin's grandfather.

Darwin himself wrote: "The geological record is extremely imperfect and this fact will to a large extent explain why we do not find intermediate varieties, connecting together all the extinct and existing forms of life by the finest graduated steps. He who rejects these views on the nature of the geological record will rightly reject my whole theory." Darwin realized his belief had its problems, but like a religious fanatic who leaps on blind faith, he hoped that future discoveries would vindicate him. Darwin also realized that a person would be consistent to reject his theories, if Darwin's view of the geologic record was invalid.

Over 135 years later, with millions of fossils recorded, no proof of a gradual shift of evolution exists.   Each species appears suddenly, completely, and often plentifully.   Men in England and Scotland established the geologic column in 1840, when most of the world had not yet been explored.   It is based primarily upon the observation of rocks in those two countries, some in the Paris basin, some in New York State and some in Russia. Rock formations have never actually been found anywhere in the world in the complete arrangement shown in the column; neither has there been even a significant portion of the column found in one place.

A common religious theme among those who reject God is the irrational hope that through random chance Time gave life to interdependent complex systems.  Time is a false god and cannot create any complex living organism of its own accord, no matter how much Time is used.  Regardless how many opportunities or chances are given, no life can be created in a sterile environment by random accidents.  Sadly, many will not realize how wrong they were to believe in genetic evolution until Time runs out on them.

In the 19th century, the view that life can spring up from inanimate materials, spontaneous generation, was disproved by Louis Pasteur, the father of pasteurization. DNA discoveries, as well as many other discoveries during the past century have shed even more insight into the wonderfully complex, skillful design existing in even the smallest one celled organism.  One celled organism have been realized not to be simple cells, but rather extremely complex.   Each small part making up a one-celled organism is intricate in design and interdependent - all parts having to have existed in complexity in the right number, sequence, and location inside the cell to allow the organism to have any life at all.

Many an ungodly scientist has concluded life did not begin on earth, but rather some where among the stars.  Why?  Because they have had to admit that there is no proof of macro-evolution on Earth, but they won't consider a Creator.  Well, some do chant that the truth is out there in the "heavens," and envision a creator having gray skin with huge black eyes set in a bulbous head.

Though evolutionary teaching is firmly entrenched in government  controlled school textbooks, and though Hollywood would point us to the X-files, the theory of evolution still remains a pagan philosophy heralded not by those who know more about our world, but by those who sought to know more while rejecting principles taught in God's Word.

Your faith in God's Word need not be shaken and I encourage you to study this issue to be better prepared to give a good answer to those worshiping Father Time.
